Sarah’s Snowman

A couple of weeks ago I mentioned that I’ve been teaching my good friend Sarah how to crochet amigurumi. Yesterday Sarah finished her second project, and he turned out so cute! This is the Snowman pattern from Luvly Gurumi. I was amazed at how quickly her tension evened out. It’s hard to believe this is only her second completed object. I would actually recommend this pattern for learning to make amigurumi because it incorporates so many techniques:

  • Crocheting in rounds
  • Crocheting in rows (the scarf)
  • Single crochet
  • Double crochet
  • Back post stitch (BP)
  • Colour change (the hat)
  • Making a pom-pom

The large size of the snowman also gives plenty of basic single crochet practice.
